Apart from European and USA breed horses, Curacao also has many Paso Fino horses. The Paso Fino is a breed of light course horses from South America. The small horses were originally bred mainly in Colombia and Puerto Rico and have a paso fino (beautiful step). Their naturally genetic gait creates the smoothest, most comfortable, mile after mile, “no bounce” ride.
Finca Casju
If your are staying in Villa Seashell, Finca Casju is a nearby (10 minutes drive), brand new, beautiful setup ranch that offers an unforgettable horseback riding experience. The staff have their equine education up to date and is friendly, professional and patient with riders who are beginners.
You directly feel the warm welcoming atmosphere. There is a nice barn with some private horses and some well-trained school horses, a large arena and even grass paddocks! These are by far the best-kept horses in the Caribbean! The stables are impeccably kept, and also offers regular lessons.
The trail through the wilderness feels thrilling at times while navigating through the thorny shrub. The highlight of the ride is getting an incredible vista of the ocean and stopping to take pictures.
The tours take approximately one hour. The maximum group size is 4 persons, and the cost per person is US$ 50. Finca Casju has English saddles and bridle.

Rancho Alegre
For fun Paso Fino horseback riding you can go to Rancho Alegre located near the village of St. Michiel, west of Willemstad. The guided tours lead you along the cliff-lined shore above Boca Sami, the bird filled woods of Hofi Mango, and along cactus fields and fruit trees. It gives you the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking Curacao views from the hill tops.
The ranch is built around salt lakes that draw flamingos, and the property is home to goats, cows, turtles, geese and many other animals, as well as a stable full of friendly horses. Alegre does horse riding for around $20 per hour including transport. Ashari’s Ranch offers horses for hire by the hour inland at around $20, or 1½ hours including a swim at the beach for around $30

Manege Société Hippique Curaçao
Riding school and stable Manage SHC is located northeast of Willemstad directly opposite of the forest Kabouterbos. They offer riding lessons as well as tours. For experienced riders, they regularly offer 5-hour tours departing at 7 AM from the Manege SHC to the Jan Thiel salt lakes.

Rancho Criadero el hijo de David
For a unique island experience, try horseback riding with Criadero El hijo de David, located at Seru Lora, east of Willemstad. The Paso Fino horses are incredibly smooth, yet spirited.
You can ride paso fino horses in the area of the Jan Thiel Lagoon and salt lakes. A two hour tour costs US$60 per person.
Rancho Finca Farandula
Rancho Farandula is a typical Colombian ranch. Each Sunday a horse show takes place with the mare Farandula in the starring role. Ladies are dressed up and men wear cowboy hats. There is loud music and BBQ from 12:00 till late.
Would you like to horseback ride yourself? That is also possible. The ranch offers different riding tours both for beginners as well as experienced riders to Playa Kanoa on the wild and spectacular north coast. Cost are from US$ 50 for 1.5 hours.
